31 Thoughts From A Soon To Be Graduate

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

With only seven short weeks of college left, I am sure those of us graduating continue to find ourselves in a battle between not wanting to graduate (I never thought I would say that) and being ready to take the plunge into the real world. For the longest time, I constantly ran around stating I hated school and could not wait for the real world to begin; which I am sure many collegiettes™ can relate to. I never thought I would miss college, but I already miss it and it is not even gone yet. Wait let me clear that up, I miss the social aspect not the endless amounts of studying. However, on the flip side I am anxious to see what the next chapter in my life has to offer. Something tells me the best days of my life are yet to come, but that does not stop my mind from continuously filling up with thoughts about saying goodbye to college and hello to the real world.

Welcome to the 31 thoughts that continue to circulate a soon to be graduates mind:

1. I need to stop purchasing yoga pants and PINK shirts.

2. I should have listened to my mom when she told me to learn to love black dress pants.

3. I better get used to wearing heels more often.

4. Why can’t flip flops be office appropriate?

5.  Goodbye Sex & The City Ladies Who Lunch Marathons.

6. No more staying up until 3 a.m. watching RHOBH reruns & pinning.

7. I need to start setting my alarm clock for 6:00 AM now to practice getting up for a career.

8. Hopefully I will no longer be living pay check to pay check.

9. I need to purchase Turbo-tax.

10. PTO and job benefits.

11. Spring break no longer exists (this is the most difficult one for me to cope with).

12. I am looking forward to meeting people with the same mind set as myself.

13. At least I still have the happiest of hours.

14. I am losing my friends to their significant others.

15. No more Macdintons dollar beer night. Wait, I don’t even drink beer.

16. Something tells me the ages of 25 & 26 are going to be my favorite years.

17. How do I want to decorate my apartment?

18. I am actually an adult now!

19. Why do I not feel like an adult?

20. I wish my Nana & Baba were around to share this exciting time of my life with.

21. Who knew five years could go by so quickly.

22. The person I was when I started college terrifies the person I am now.

23. I have no control over the future.

24. The best part of college was making four life long friendships.

25. I need to buy some cute office supplies.

26. I CANNOT wait to begin my career.

27. I wonder what my co-workers will be like…

28. I will finally be able to afford an unlimited monthly yoga pass.

29. Morning meetings actually sound exciting.

30. I will finally have time to cook everything I have pinned.

31. Bills.
