Disclaimer: These are the 5 shows that you need to~STAY AWAY~from for your own good during finals week. If you don’t, there is a very high probability that you will be sucked into the abyss of well written television gold, and most likely not be able to step out of the darkness and corners of your room. Take this article as more of a WARNING, than an actual recommendation- and then once you totally slay those final exams, change into some pj’s and prepare to do some major binge watching.

#5 Gossip Girl:

Okay, well for starters, I’m really hoping that you have already watched this pure art form of television and have seen every single episode of the incredible Chuck and Blair romance on top of Blair’s classic RBF (resting bitch face) and Serena’s effortless beauty …if you haven’t SHAME ON YOU. But nevertheless Gossip Girl is basically the equivalent of girl bible. Gossip Girl is as addictive as it is funny, sweet, and just straight up betchy, and with 6 seasons to stream on your netflix account you might as well say sayonara to that perfect 4.0 gpa because once you hear the sweet jingle of “XOXO Gossip Girl” you will be officially trapped.

#4 New Girl:

Zooey Deschanel’s quirky and hilarious character Jessica Day is placed in an interesting living situation when she decides to move in with 4 other single bachelors (for reasons you learn later in the show…) after a terrible breakup with her super weird boyfriend. We later are introduced to other humorous characters including the infamous Schmit and the stunning Cece, all which have incredibly unique sense of humor. Overall, New Girl is a really easy show to start watching when you just want to be distracted. Schmidt’s douchebag jar, walks of shame, and the curse of sleeping with your roommate are common themes of this seriously funny show. If you love to laugh, be forewarned, this show has had me in tears MULTIPLE times, and when you’re dealing with the pain and suffering of finals, it’s a great way to get in a good and much needed laugh.

#3 Shameless:

Shameless is one of the most unique and absolutely insane shows I’ve ever seen on TV, If you like watching people do really stupid stuff, then this is definitely the show for you. There is a character in this show for EVERYBODY. The plot follows the adventures of the Gallaghers, an ape shit family that loves to party and get into trouble. It’s easy to fall for the incredibly attractive Lip Gallagher, to admire the beautiful and crazy Fiona Gallagher, and to laugh at the drunken stupor of father Frank Gallagher. Shameless always gives you the unexpected which makes this show straight up addicting to watch. Each episode is around 60 minutes long so forget about blazing through multiple episodes in less than an hour, once you commit to this show you will not be able to drag your eyes away from the screen. You might as well say RIP to your grades.

#1 Grey’s Anatomy:

Hater’s will disagree with me, but I’ve only seen one episode of this show and I’m already hooked. I think it’s the combination of thrill, mystery and sexual tension that is going full force through each episode. I don’t want to ruin anything, but trust me, this show will probably make you question a lot of things…like if that work hookup is really worth it? Do you really wanna be a business major…I mean after this show you will feel like you have the skills to diagnose any patient and maybe even be a doctor LOL.  With 13 seasons Grey’s Anatomy will downright ruin you. Keep your sanity, don’t even google the show, save it for when you have a ton of free time. Trust me, it will be completely worth it in the end ;)

Now that you know what the top 5 addicting shows on TV are right now, you are prepared to study your booty off for finals- Good luck!

Hey there! My name is Katherine Lee, but I go by Moi- a childhood nickname that has stuck throughout my entire life.  I am originally from the Bay Area and now I'm student at the Annenberg School of Communications and Journalism at USC.  The one thing I love more than hitting the gym is hitting every good restaurant wherever I am.  A foodie and a gym rat makes me quite a contradictory person, but I hey- I just like to keep things interesting!
