Campus Celeb Special! Drama Student “Sports-Jacket” Adam Kronk

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USC (AU) chapter.

On Sunday, March 9, 2014 after seeing Accidental Death of an Anarchist, “Sports-Jacket” Adam Kronk took some time out to chat with us.

HCUSC: Why was Accidental Death of an Anarchist the play that was chosen?

Adam: PAK is only a new theatre but were very sort of, open theatre. We like new people coming in and expressing what they want to do and PAK and the university help us fund it. It’s amazing.

HCUSC: Did everyone have their own ideas for the show?

Adam: Well, our Director Peta Beattie had done this play before and she casts with uni students. It gets the community and uni students together.

HCUSC: Do you only get uni students to perform or are you open to people outside of the university?

Adam: at the momen we’re aimed at uni students, trying to get everyone from like engineering to drama to get together and meet. It’s just a new thing to meet new people.

HCUSC: Are you guys mostly the main characters each time or main performers?

Adam: This is solely cast, so we only play those characters but it is one of those shows that can go either way. Every show’s different. Today, was more comedy, other shows are a lot more intense! But everyone’s under the spotlight and we’re always on stage.

HCUSC: Is the pre-show the same for each night?

Adam: We have different people each night and it’s different for each show as well, like the dancers and singers.

HCUSC: How did the auditions work?

Adam: It was at the end if last year (2013) and we had sort of a petition where anyone at uni could sign up and audition. It was very open, anyone could do it. You’d have to audition for Peta and our Production Manager Dale and a lot of improvisation!

HCUSC: Do you ever get nervous when your about to hit the stage? Is there anything you do to try and calm yourself?

Adam: We all try to sit down together about an hour before and do a line run and just have a good time, and before hand we’ll do build up some energy. I mean you always get nervous but then the adrenaline kicks in!

Make sure you tune in next week for our interview with Accidental Death of an Anarchist’s “Maniac” Tara Bryan!
