I personally hate sitting around and trying to figure out what to do with myself on days where I have no homework or obligations. My first instinct is to watch Netflix and with my experience, I am here to let you in on some of the best shows to binge watch when you’re bored AF.

1. The Carrie Diaries

Number of Seasons: Two (sadly). I have watched this show at least two times. It follows a young teenager in the 80s, named Carrie, on her adventures of becoming a woman while being in love with New York City. She meets a charming boy named Sebastian (SUPER HEARTTHROB) who is definitely not an eyesore. The show involves many situations that are still relevant to teenagers today. There are many love plots and heartbreaking moments.

2. The Office

Number of Seasons: Eight. The Office is perfect for anytime, anywhere. There are so many plot lines but it is not a fast paced show. It stars Michael Scott, the manager of Dunder Mifflin (a paper supply company), as he explores what it is like to be a manager. The show is shot almost like a documentary so the characters speak directly to the camera sometimes. There are quite a few love plots that will absolutely make you sob (in a good way). This is the funniest show I have ever watched and whenever I’m feeling down, this is my go to!

3. That 70s Show

Number of Seasons: Eight. This show is also great for anytime. The series follows a group of stoner teenagers in the 70s. It is extremely funny and always raunchy. You will become attached to the characters before you know it and start to relate to them on many emotional levels. There are some very deep plots, especially about parental issues such as not having a father figure or being part of a low income family. The show takes some very sensitive issues and wraps it with humor. This show is always a hit when you’re just hanging out with your friends.

4. The Vampire Diaries

Number of Seasons: Eight. This is a show that will take your heart and destroy it a thousand times, but it will be so worth it. There are so many plot lines happening at once and it always keeps you on your toes. If you aren’t into witches, werewolves, mermaids and most of all vampires, I do not recommend this show. The show has very relatable plot lines which makes falling in love with it even easier. Vampire Diaries follows a girl named Elena, who soon becomes close to the Salvatore brothers, and then the whole world flips upside down. If this sounds like something you’d like, just prepare yourself with tissues and lots of popcorn.
