Thanksgiving College Student Struggles as Told by Amy Schumer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

Now that Halloween is over and the countdown to finals has begun, the only thing we really have to look forward to this month is stuffing our faces during Thanksgiving. Despite this festive time, there are some struggles that all of us students face while going home for the holiday. This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for hilarious Amy Schumer and her telling of some of our Thanksgiving struggles.

When you show up to Thanksgiving dinner in the only appropriate outfit you managed to find in your closet…

Then you walk in and see a distant relative you haven’t seen in years…

Your reaction when all your relatives immediately start complimenting you and telling you how great you are…

Your family’s reaction when you tell them you’re still single…

And you’re just trying to stay humble despite all the praise and compliments…

Then your grandparents ask what you’ve been up to at school…

Someone decides to pull up an awkward family photo and asks you to re-tell the story behind it…

Your face as soon as the food is FINALLY brought out…

Your mom’s reaction when she catches you texting at the dinner table…

After stuffing your face and someone asks if you’re hungry for dessert yet…

But then you remember your grandma made homemade pumpkin pie and you’re suddenly like… dessert?!

Next thing you know you really regret wearing jeans. ..

When your mom finds out you left dinner without saying goodbye to one of your relatives…

Eating leftovers the next day…and the next, and the next…

Realizing you should probably get up and go to the gym before heading back to school after the weekend…
