Spooky season is not complete without the perfect set of dorm decorations to spruce up your room. Decorating your dorm room is one of the best ways to make your home away from home more festive. The difference a couple of ghosts and ghouls can make in your room will have you dying for Halloween to come sooner. Covering your door in spiderwebs and ghosts, and putting pumpkins everywhere instantly transforms your room into the ghostly getaway you dream of!

Door Decor!

Decorating your door is probably the coolest aspect of dressing up your room. This is your chance to use your imagination and come up with any theme you want! It can be anything from spiderwebs to caution tape, or a reference from a classic Halloween movie! This can easily be accomplished in one quick trip to the dollar store. A bag of fake spiderwebs, plastic spiders, window clings, and caution tape are all you need. Streamers around your doorframe can also add a little extra flair to your now fabulously fall entrance.

Pumpkins!

Going to a pumpkin patch off-campus with friends is a great way to get as many pocket-sized pumpkins and gourds as your heart desires! Picking pumpkins small enough to fit all-around your room is key. Placing them on your desks, shelves, and anywhere else you can think of really brings a pop of color into your room. Even though everyone always forgets about gourds, they’re a small touch that will instantly make your room feel cozy and fall-like. But no dorm is complete without at least one jack-o-lantern! Carving out one big pumpkin and putting him out in the hall by your door for everyone to admire is a surefire way to dominate the spooky season decor game.

Lanterns!

Paper lanterns will elevate your room to a whole new level of haunted. A couple of paper lanterns from the dollar store in purples, blacks, and oranges are a great way to light up your room. Hanging them on command hooks or off the side of a raised bed creates the perfect spooky atmosphere for watching horror movies with friends. Turning all your lights out and watching a movie by the glow of your lanterns is the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit.

Now you have all the tools to make your room the spookiest of them all, so go out and decorate!
