If You’re Not Subscribed to Shane Dawson, Here’s Why You Should Be

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

Shane Dawson is one of my favorite YouTubers ever, if not my absolute favorite. Whether you know Shane from his sketches and characters like Shanaynay, his conspiracy theories or his docuseries’, he is a figure on YouTube that has worked hard for years and deserves the most praise and recognition. His original content, meticulous editing and honesty are a few of his qualities that make him one of the most respected on a platform that millions of people use. Shane’s work is the quality of that which belongs on television.

Shane’s channel has undergone several transformations from making fast-food creations and blow-torching Barbie dolls, to touching on hard-hitting three-part documentaries. Some of these subjects include, explaining his past and family life, confronting a hater, living a day as someone who is blind and working to understand the lives of different types of people. Shane’s videos about controversial conspiracies, facing his insecurities and polarizing figures like Kathy Griffin, Jeffree Star, Tana Mongeau and Jake Paul display Shane’s authenticity and his credibility as a respected figure on the internet.

I don’t know Shane personally, even though I wish I did, but he is someone who inspires me and so many others. He’s made it clear that he is genuinely a caring person and is beyond hilarious. His love for his friends, his family, his pets and the people he encounters whether for an interview or a fan on the street, are more reasons to love Shane. I strongly suggest that no matter who you are, that you subscribe to Shane and binge-watch his videos, you definitely will not regret it.
