Emotions of Entering Senior Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

When you first begin college, everyone around you tells you to make the most of it because it is going to fly by. I remember hearing this over and over again from my family and friends and I didn’t quite understand fully what they meant until I entered my senior year. The thought of entering senior year seemed so distant that it was almost hysterical to ever think about it. Well, it is officially here, and it is pretty amazing how the days turn into weeks, the weeks into months, and the months into years. How does this happen!? While the past few years have been fun and all, you can certainly expect to have an array of emotions every single day of your senior year:

1. ” Yes, I Am Finally a Senior”

5. “I Am Most Definitely Not a Freshman Anymore”

Well, now that you have vowed to make the most of your last year of college, you are starting to quickly realize that you are certainly not a freshman anymore. Waking up with absolutely no hangover is in your past, that’s for sure. Sitting at work, or in a class with the slightest hangover just does not seem as appealing to you anymore. Becoming a senior means you are taking on more responsibilities than you once did as a freshman, so while it seems fun to relive those wild freshman nights, sometimes it doesn’t always work out in your favor.

6. Thankful

As the end of your college career is around the corner, you begin to think about how grateful you are for your experience. You start to realize that the friendships you have made throughout the years are unlike any other, and the impact the university has had on you is enormous. It is probably safe to say you are not the same person you were when you entered freshman year. You have come, you have saw, and you have conquered. Although it is the start of your senior year, graduation day will be right around the corner. So, be thankful, be grateful, and soak up the last year of college freedom.
