4 Things to Remember As a Student Graduating College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

I never really considered myself the most studious human being on the planet. I never tried to be that ‘over-achiever’ that I know my sister is.  I was always the kind of student who just floated along and enjoyed the ride. However, once I hit college I actually began to enjoy learning, to the point where I’m starting to think I should have slowed my roll. I now have one semester left of my college career, as a student who is graduating a semester early. I’ve definitely learned a lot since entering college, and now that I have one semester left, it really makes me think about all the things you have to appreciate about being a college student, because it really does fly.

1. Rolling out of bed five minutes before class.

I keep thinking to myself that I don’t know how I am actually going to prepare time to look decent and make it to work on time when I get into the big girl world. Waking up five minutes before class is always the way to go.

2. GO OUT.

Of course we all have days, or even weeks, where we are exhausted and don’t think we can pull through and make it out with our friends. But, once you graduate, there’s no more Wheelhouse Wednesday or waking up still drunk with your friends on a Friday morning after Bonvue. You’ll look back and be glad you rallied after that long week.

3. Putting your girlfriends before your boyfriends.

Your college friends are some of the greatest people you will ever meet. Always make sure to show them some love, because they will always be there for you.

4. Living with your best friends.

It’s not everyday you get the opportunity to live with your best friends and reek havoc on your college town. Embrace it; these days will create some of the best memories.

We all remember our freshman orientation like it was yesterday, and it seems like we blink and then we’re seniors. But, just remember to embrace it all ‘cause it really does fly by.
