3 Ways to Stay in Touch with College Friends Over the Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

Unfortunately, the school year is coming to a close and you, along with all of your close friends, will be migrating home. The thought of not being with them 24/7 for three months? Something only nightmares are made of!

Below I have listed three easy tips to follow to stay in close touch with your college friends!

1. Text every single day.

It’s the little things that count. We are all constantly busy; this summer I will be working two jobs! By sending a quick text saying hello, you can spark a quick conversation with your best friend and show him or her you care.

2. Video chat every week.

Once a week, agree on a day to chat face-to-face with your best friend. You can gossip, gush and laugh for hours on end and forget about the distance between you both.

3. Plan one trip.

The summer is a hectic three months, but putting aside one weekend to visit each other is doable. Discuss it now, look at your schedules and choose one weekend for a road trip, a day trip or a fun-filled weekend at someone’s home. Nothing beats it.
