To say that bid day seriously changed my life sounds a bit dramatic, but it is the absolute truth. Bid day is the BEST day. It’s when all the wide-eyed nervous potential new members complete fall recruitment. The build up to bid day brings tons of butterflies and extremely anxious young women. These ladies are dying to run into the arms of their preference sorority and finally find a place they can call their home away from home. Boy, that half hour on the quad sure feels like 10 hour’s to receive the “ok” to open up your bid and run. These are the thoughts that run through new member’s heads on Bid Day from the beginning to end.

*Wakes Up*

1. TODAY IS THE DAY

2. I know they picked me. That girl and I vibed! How could they not pick me?!

3. The butterflies in my stomach need to stop.

4. I wonder what the bid day shirts will look like? I FINALLY GET LETTERS!

5. I hope my eyeliner looks good for pics.

6. I think I’m gonna throw up.

7. Can I just know now?

*Goes to quad with friends from rush*

8. My makeup is going to melt off my face if I stand in the sun any longer.

9. Will I meet my future big today?

10. My recruitment councilor is definitely a Zeta. I know it.

11. My bid day card is in my hand, IT’S IN MY HAND.

12. What if I don’t get *insert sorority name here*…?!

13. CAN WE OPEN OUR BID DAY CARDS?

14. I KNEW IT SHES A ZETA.

25. This is what I’ve been waiting for. FINALLY.

*Opens Bid*

16. YES OMG. *insert sorority name here*. HERE I COME.

17. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

18. I don’t even know who I’m hugging right now, BUT WHO CARES!

19. I haven’t felt this excited since I graduated high school.

20. Wow the house is even more beautiful when I can call it MY house.

21. My face hurts from smiling so much.

22. These girls are perfect.

23. Totally wearing this shirt around campus tomorrow.

24. THROW WHAT YOU KNOW, YAS.

25. Instagram a picture? Check.

26. Can this day never end?

27. It’s good to be home.

I'm willing to make anybody smile. I write to show how I chase happiness, contain & maintain positivity, express love and thought, and pursue strength and stability.
