After working at Dunkin’ for 3 years, it is no surprise that I took it upon myself to experiment coffee flavors and beverages. For all of you who love Pumpkin Swirl Latte’s, it’s time to try something different; maybe something you never even thought of ordering. There are so many Dunkin’ beverages better than the #basic PSL. Just consider this list your new go-to, and thank me later.
1. Blueberry Iced Coffee
You’re probably saying to yourself, “blueberry coffee?! What?” But trust me, this is one of my favorites. Unique and tasty is the best way to describe Blueberry Iced Coffee. But, this flavor shot is sugar-free, so if you prefer your coffee sweet, be sure to ask for sugar. If not, you can make this coffee a bit tastier by asking for an extra shot of blueberry. After that, you won’t really notice that your coffee does not have sugar in it.
2. Coconut Iced Coffee
Like the blueberry flavored coffee, coconut is also a sugar-free flavor. This goes well with almond milk!
3. Caramel Swirl/Coconut Iced Coffee
Arguably the best tasting flavor combo. If you like Caramel Swirl (who doesn’t) and coconut, you will definitely fall in love with these two flavors mixed together. But, don’t make the mistake of adding sugar! This beverage will already be incredibly sweet.
4. Mocha Swirl/ Caramel Iced Coffee
Who doesn’t love the flavor combination of chocolate and caramel? This tasty drink is self-explanatory. Again, no sugar is needed.
5. Mocha Swirl/ Coconut Iced Coffee
This is not a fan favorite for everyone, but if you enjoy Almond Joy candy bars, you will love these two flavors. In fact, Dunkin’ even offered Almond Joy Swirl flavor for a limited time.
6. Raspberry Iced Coffee
This flavor shot is similar to blueberry but not as good. This is also a sugar-free flavor, so adding granulated or liquid sugar is optional.
1. Caramel Swirl Iced Latte
Most of us have probably had this beverage at one time or another. But for those who do not know exactly what a latte is, it is simply an espresso shot (turbo shot at DD) with cold milk poured over ice.
2. Hazelnut Swirl Iced Macchiato
Hazelnut Swirl is a risky flavor because it is very sweet (pre-sweetened) so, you may only want to request one or two pumps, instead of three. This flavor goes well with almond milk. For those who do not know what a macchiato is, it is almost the same as a latte, but a bit different. It is made by pouring cold milk over ice, and then adding a double espresso shot over the milk. The espresso does not mix with the milk, so essentially your macchiato will look like oil and vinegar, except with milk and espresso (you get the point).
3. French Vanilla Swirl Iced Latte
French Vanilla Swirl is pre-sweetened, and some may say it is too sweet, depending on preference. But, one thing is for sure: this flavor tastes as amazing as a latte.
1. Frozen Hot Chocolate
If you have not tried the Frozen Hot Chocolate, you are missing out. It is made by putting hot chocolate powder, whole milk, and Mocha Swirl in a blender. If you want to make it less rich, ask for skim milk instead.
2. Frozen Vanilla Chai
Vanilla Chai’s are now offered hot or frozen. If you are a fan of the hot Vanilla Chai, you will definitely like the frozen version. The two have different ingredients, though. The frozen chai contains Vanilla Bean Coolata syrup, whole milk, and Vanilla Chai powder blended with ice.
3. Vanilla Bean Coolata
This beverage is similar to the Frozen Vanilla Chai, but not quite the same. It is made with Vanilla Bean Coolata syrup, cream, and neutral base coolata concentrate (basically frozen sugar water.) You can substitute the cream with whole milk, skim milk, or almond milk.
4. Caramel Swirl Coffee Coolata
This flavor Coolata is the most popular. What can be better than caramel and frozen coffee?!
1. Caramel Swirl Hot Latte
A hot latte has the same process as an iced one, except the milk is steamed. I am not a fan of hot coffee, but a hot latte tastes amazing.
2. Mint Hot Chocolate
For a spin on hot chocolate, I recommend ordering the mint flavor. I prefer it to the original hot chocolate. To make it taste even richer, add cream to it!
3. S’mores Hot Chocolate
S’mores hot chocolate? Now how cool is that…
I hope you enjoy this list and try these beverages! Trust me, they are all better than a Pumpin Swirl Latte! Her Campus URI Runs on Dunkin…Enjoy!
