1. Â Schedule and actually go to a doctors appointment.
Just because you are home and can escape your collegiate/academic responsibilities for a few days doesn’t mean life halts all together. Â Put your big girl pants on and pick up the phone!Â
2. Â Get your hair, nails and eyebrows done.
(+10 points if you can convince your mom/dad to pay for it)
3. Â Do your laundry.
Unless Mom reallyyyy wants to do it for you *blink blink blink*
4. Â Replenish your school wardrobe.
As you head home for break, bring your flip-flops, sandals, denim shorts and maxis with you. Â I know we’re all in denial of the warm weather leaving us for a few agonizing months, but taking up closet space is not going to make winter go faster.
5. Â Shop ’til you drop.
Now that you have all that extra space you have room for some new clothes/shoes! (As if you needed an excuse) Â Plus, it’s nice to go shopping in a mall you know like the back of your hand.
6. Â Shop around your house.
Paper towels, canned stuff, shampoos, lotions, nail polish, DVDs, FOR FREE.
7. Â Catch up with friends.
This truly is important. Â Just because you have grown as a person and made new friends does not mean you should lose touch with or lose sight of where you came from.
8. Â Eat some good food.
Whether it’s mom’s lasagna, dad’s sirloin steak, or that bomb pizza in town, now is the time to feast.
9. Â Hug your parents.
This should be the first AND last thing you do. Â Be sure it’s good and tight and make certain to soak up all that love; you might need it to power you through the rest of your semester.
10. Â Thank your parents.
And then thank them again, because you wouldn’t be where/who you are if it weren’t for them.
