UPRM’s Choir: On Their Way to Princeton

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPRM chapter.

The UPRM is famous for its talented student body. From our athletes and dance teams to our engineers in national robotics competitions, UPRM always stands out in any field our students pursue. The UPRM’s “Coral Universitaria,” founded in 1959, is no exception. Their 59-member ensemble is respected and loved by our community. This year, they will be competing in the prestigious Sing n’ Joy Competition, where choruses from all around the globe will have the opportunity to showcase their talents. UPRM’s Choir will proudly represent the Latin American region at Princeton, New Jersey from February 16 to February 20. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity can be made possible with the help of our campus! If you’re interested in supporting our Choir, check out their fundraising options listed below!

Fundraising Option #1: Brazos Gitanos

With over 15 flavors to choose from, you can pre-order your Brazo Gitano for $6 online. They will be delivered on campus on Thursday, February 9 at 10:30 am. You can place your order here.

Fundraising Option #2: CAAMino a Princeton

On Tuesday, February 7 at 7:00pm, the UPRM’s Choir will be presenting their line-up for Sing n’ Joy at the Figueroa Chapel Amphitheater. Their repertoire includes religious music as well as folkloric songs. Tickets are being pre-sold through the choir’s Facebook page and will be sold for $4 at the door on the day of their presentation as well.

Fundraising Option #3: T-Shirts

What better way to show our Colegio spirit than by wearing a t-shirt? With a wide range of size options—10-12 all the way to 3X-Large—you can find one that perfectly represents your RUM team spirit. You can order yours by messaging the Coral Universitaria’s Facebook page here. Cost: $10
