Halloween is a great time to have fun with your significant other and it’s also a great occasion to show off your cuteness with couple costumes. If you don’t have any ideas about what to dress up as with your significant other during this day, here are seven easy ideas that will have you DIY-ing away in no time.

  1. Bring the Beer Pong!

This is a great one that will have everyone talking. All you need for this easy DIY costume is a pair of T-shirts, 12 red solo cups, some strong glue or tape, and a couple ping pong balls. You can always glue the solo cups to a triangular piece of cardboard before adding them to your shirt if you want to make sure the cups don’t get lost in “el jangueo”.

2. The other half to my Oreo

Everyone will understand this cute costume, and it is super easy to make! Just buy two black cardboards at your nearest office supply store or pharmacy, use either white paint (or wite-out) for the decorations, and strong glue or tape to wear it with your white t-shirt.

3. Bob Ross and his happy tree

Become a facebook meme with this costume. If your man doesn’t have the curly hair, no worries, you can always find a cheap wig. Use a cardboard to make the paint palette. And for you, glue on some fake fall leaves, which you can either paint or print out from your computer. If you want a more “leafy” appearance, silk paper is a great hack. You can find it in the gift wrapping section of any pharmacy.

4. Can’t miss my loofah!

We can totally see UPRM students killing it with this costume in “la calle bosque”. For the loofah you can use tulle fabric or a tutu skirt, and white shoelaces for the cord.  As for your partner, I don’t think he will have any trouble with his costume.

5. Struck by lighting

Everyone’s nightmare in Colegio are these everyday storms. You’ll get some laughs with this one. Use yellow cardboard for the lighting and dark eyeshadow to make the burnt effects in your clothing and body.

6. “C is for cookie” – Cookie Monster

Munch away your sweetheart with this costume that will have everyone remembering their childhood. Again cardboard will be your best friend for the cookie and you can get creative with the cookie monster part. As long as it’s blue, people will get it.

7. Snapchat magic

We can all relate to the filter/no-filter effect! For this clever costume just make sure to be matching with your sweetheart. Find a cheap wig that is close to your hair color (or wear a matching hat!) Then, choose your favorite filter and DIY away some decorations for yourself. Don’t forget the signs!

The key takeaway from this article is that probably the best costumes are those we actually see in our day to day lives. Everyone will get it and it will be fairly easy to replicate for Halloween. So, keep your eyes open for those things that make you and your friends laugh. And while you brainstorm ideas, go get cardboard, you’ll probably need it.
