1.HCUPRM: Where did you girls meet?

We first met in 2010 since we both played in the same soccer team. At that time we were just teammates. In November of 2011, at a rave, we got to see each other again for the first time in so long; we had a great time together, and from that moment on we started to hang out more often, finally becoming great friends.

2. HCUPRM: First impression

N: I was immediately attracted to her, but the first thing that made me notice her was her eyes and long blond hair. Unfortunately, we started out with the wrong foot because I tried talking to her for about a year, but she ignored me completely.

G: To be honest, I don’t really know how it all started. Like Nicolle said, we started out with the wrong foot because she was the first person to suggest to me that I was gay. I sort of freaked out because at that time I didn’t considered that I was gay. I got attracter to her when we were good friends. Every time I come to think about it I’m like: “Life’s crazy!!” because I would have never expected it.

3. HCUPRM: First date

It’s funny that we actually never went on an official date, like normal lovers do, because we never thought (specially me, Gia) that we would become more than friends. When we were officially committed to each other we went for dinner at a steakhouse. We could say that was our first official date.

4. HCUPRM: Do you share a hobby?

Yes we do! We enjoy going to raves together; that is where she became my official girlfriend. Also we used to play soccer together but now Nicolle is a cheerleader.

5. HCUPRM: Best moment as a couple

N: Recently we had a great date (a little surprise from Gia); we went for dinner at “Pal’ Cielo” in San Juan. Right after that we stayed at the beach watching the stars, talking, joking and relaxing with some cold beers! It was an amazing night. I would’ve never expected something like that from Gia.

6. HCUPRM: What do you like most about each other?

N: She’s perfect for every one of her qualities. She’s a caring, loving, responsible, humble and genuinely girl. I’m lucky to be the one person she chose to be with. I love her and I know I can always count on her.

G: Nicolle is the one person who complements me and I love that. I’ve never fallen in love like this with someone before. She’s great and I bet she doesn’t even know it because most of the time she’s complaining about herself. She is loving, caring, intelligent, attentive, creative, funny and a content girl. She is the joy of my life!

7. HCUPRM: One word that describes your relationship?

Genuine

8. HCUPRM: How do you manage to handle the long distance relationship?

“Communication is key”. We have our arguments like every other couple but we try to talk things through and we’ve always been able to manage most situations pretty well. It’s very difficult not seeing the person you love every day or even for weeks sometimes.

9. HCUPRM: “What advice should you give to those girls who are insecure of who they really are?”

N: The first thing you got to realize is that you aren’t alone. If fear is what is bothering you, remember that you always got to make yourself happy first. If you’re not sure weather you are straight or gay don’t think you should take the chance only if you are certain you are 100 percent sure because nobody is sure of who they are until they take that leap of fair. The worst that could happen is to make no decision out of fear. The only way to be happy is to completely love yourself for everything that you are, no matter what are your interests.

G: I consider that it is important to be yourself, no matter what, and also to accept and appreciate yourself for who you really are before anyone else does. Personally, I really dislike people who are always sneaking and on the lookout of other’s life, and even more if it is for criticizing and defaming it. That is why you should never pay attention to no one’s opinion but yours and feel free to live your life the way you like. Something that is really difficult is telling your family and friends. It’s normal to be afraid of being despised by the people you love, but I learned that the people who really love you will always accept and love you no matter what. As time goes by things get better and you get to realize that if people know the truth it is way better and comfortable for everybody and most important, you will be happy.

10. HCUPRM: Something special planned for Valentines Day?

G: We are planning on going on a date, something simple. Her company is the best gift I could ask for, so as long as I’m with her I don’t really need anything else. Besides, Nicolle is not a fan of surprises; she made me promise her I would keep it simple. Anyhow I got some lovely secrets prepared for her that day.
