This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPRM chapter.

How confident are you? Did you know that learning to improve your confidence could help you meet your goals and find the success that you want in life? Prepare yourself for success and remember that being confident isn’t about thinking you are better than everyone else; it’s about not having to compare yourself to anyone in the first place.

♥ 1. Stand tall:  Put those shoulders back and heart forward. Standing up straight is one of the most important tips to project confidence through body language.

♥ 2. Smile: Confident people smile because they have nothing to worry about & smiling is sexy. In psychology this is known as facial feedback; the idea that one’s facial expressions can influence our emotional experiences.

♥ 3. Always wear perfume: Studies have found that women feel more confident when wearing perfume. It’s been proven that perfumes boost your confidence. When you smell good, you feel good about yourself and as a consequence you have the confidence to do anything.

♥ 4. Drink coffee: One more reason to love your coffee, caffeine has been shown to improve alertness, energy and confidence.

♥ 5. Celebrate your achievements: When you’re feeling low, think of the things you’ve done that make you proud. It will make you remember the fabulous women you are.

♥ 8. Be positive: Whether it’s in your head or out loud, each time you catch yourself saying something bad about yourself or anyone else correct it and say something amazing. Keep it positive!

“When you know yourself, you are empowered. When you accept yourself, you are invincible.

♥ 9. Be bold: Wear red lipstick, bold colors and don’t be afraid to go after what you want!

♥ 10. Reward yourself:  Take care of yourself. You deserve it; do things that make you happy. By taking care of yourself you will have more to give to others.
