10 Stages of Receiving “La Beca”

1. You recieve the most expected email of the semester, from our dearest friend, a. santiago. Your beca check is on the way! 

2. You do an akward victory dance with no shame at all. The happiness is genuine. 

3. Whomever this a.santiago guy is, in your mind, he looks like Charming.

4. So you sit arround and wait….

5. And WAIT….

6. Until the deposit happens. 

7. You call your BFF to celebrate the fact that your debit card will not decline this time. 

8. And when the night comes, you show off your new outfits at fancy jangueo spots you couldn’t afford before. 

9. By the end of next week you check your bank account statement and realize all the bad decisions you have made. You barely have money left for rent, and it may be wise to walk to school to save some gas. 

10. You are out of options. Back to eating ramen noodles and drinking $1 Medalla until a.Santiago strikes again.
