It’s no lie that we have a soft spot for those shows that we grew up with. In my case, that show is Scooby-Doo. This timeless show is one that will never go out of style. My parents watched it, I watched it, my younger siblings watched it, and even my little cousins enjoyed it. My siblings and I used to adore sitting really close to the TV to watch the show whenever it was on, and we were beyond excited for this year’s Scoob! Movie. For those of you who don’t know what the show is aboutーhonestly, have you been living under a rock?ーScooby-Doo is about a group of friends that solve mysteries that involve monsters that aren’t actually monsters, just people in masks trying to scare others to achieve something beneficial for themselves. You might not agree with me, but I’ll tell you why I think Scooby-Doo is the best show.

1. The Scooby-Doo Outfits are Iconic

Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy have such recognizable outfits, and they are iconic. They have main colors; and, regardless of the version of the show or the movies based on it you end up watching, their outfits still follow the same color palettes. Fred with his classic blue, white and orange; Daphne with her beautiful combination of purple and green; Velma with her orange and burgundy; and Shaggy with his brown and green (I’m not including Scooby for obvious reasons).

When I was young, I totally wanted to be able to dress just like Daphne and Velma. They were and still are some of the best dressed cartoon characters. I absolutely adore watching people’s renditions of this character’s outfits.

2. The Show Taught Us Who the Real Monsters Are

Ever since we are kids, we hear all types of urban legends and monsters, especially here on the island. Who didn’t grow up hearing about El Cuco, La Llorona, and even El Chupacabra? This show presents all types of supernatural monsters, though half of them turn out to be actual people under the scary masks. The show reveals that the real monstersーthe ones we have to fear in real lifeーare not the paranormal ones, but those that hide under the guise of being good people who still try all kinds of tricks just to achieve what they want no matter how many end up hurt in the process.

3. Solving mysteries with the gang is probably one of the reasons why I love true crime

I’ve always been intrigued by crime shows and finding out who the villains or criminals are. Trying to solve the mysteries keeps me on my toes for the duration of whatever show I’m watching and/or whatever podcast I’m listening to.

No matter how old or young you are, it’s always a good time to enjoy the Scooby-Doo adventures. The familiarity of the show brings the comfort of childhood. It’s a timeless show that you can rewatch anytime, and believe me, if you do, you’ll also think it’s the best. Go on! It looks like we’ve got another mystery on our hands!
