Want to Change Your Hair? Here’s 4 Reasons Why You Should Do It!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPR chapter.

Wanting to change your hairstyle is something everyone goes through. You get bored of the one you have and your mind starts to wander off to: What if I cut it? Do I get bangs? Should I dye it? If so, what color? And with this turmoil of thoughts, you end up never changing it. It’s a weird feeling because you get excited about the possible changes, but you’re also scared of the results (what if I don’t like it?), and that’s completely understandable. However, how would you know if you like it or not if you don’t do it? Take this article as a sign! Here are four reasons why you should totally change your hairstyle:

Hair grows back

This seems like basic knowledge, but we always forget about it when we are thinking of changing our hairstyle. Hair always grows back. So, if you cut it and you don’t like the results, wait patiently, and it will grow back to its former length. You can always go back to the length you miss. Will it take time? Yes, but it will grow back healthier than it was before! For more inspiration for getting that new hairstyle check out this TikTok Compilation on YouTube.

You can dye it back

Want to dye your hair a funky color but you’re afraid that it won’t look good? Don’t fret! You can always dye it back to your past hair color! It might not look exactly the same, but it will look similar enough while your natural hair color starts to grow back. Once again, it’s about being patient and letting your hair do its thing. There have been a lot of Hair Dyeing Wins that you can take into consideration, so go check them out!

Not a lot people will see you

Right now, we’re in a pandemic where we need to keep social distancing. This is the perfect time to get creative with your hair! Trust me, you won’t be the first nor the last person to try this during quarantine. If it goes bad, you can just hide in your room under the excuse of COVID-19 and wait until you can fix it. If it turns out great, you can take a lot of cute pics to upload on social media! You have nothing to lose!

It’s therapeutic

There’s something about changing your hair that makes you feel like a new person. Especially during these times where we may feel frustrated and alone because of the pandemic, every little change is welcome. Go cut your bangs and dye your hair! It’ll make you feel better. It’s also a fun and creative way to express yourself! Look how much happier the Youtuber Juliet Johnson looks with her change of hairstyle!

I hope these little insights motivate you to go through the change! I did and I don’t regret it a single bit! Most of these things you already knew, but sometimes we all just need a reminder and a little push to take the risk.
