Galentine’s Day, oh, Galentine’s Day… It’s only the best day of the year! It’s perfect for those single ladies who feel frustrated about being single BUT it’s also for the single babes who are happy with the single life. Even then, those of you who have found your soulmate, don’t fret—this day is also for you! Galentine’s is meant to celebrate the friendship between girlfriends; a day that’s not about who’s in a relationship or not, but for a group of women to celebrate each other. And what better way to celebrate than with food? So, here are some steps to plan the perfect brunch for you and your gals.
1. Pick the perfect time.
Whether you want it to be a surprise or not, picking the perfect time is key to have a perfect Galentine’s Day. It may seem easy, but in a world filled with clashing schedules, homework, and unforeseen events, you need to juggle around so everyone can make it. Talk to your friends to see what time is fitting for all of you. A brunch gives you enough flexibility to find that perfect time, making it a great activity to do. We suggest you make it at around 10:30 AM to 11 AM. This gives those night owls the perfect amount of sleep and for those early birds, it won’t feel so late.
2. Pick the perfect place.
To have a good brunch it’s necessary to pick a good place. Pick one with a good ambiance where every single one of your friends will be comfortable. Nobody wants to feel out of place when celebrating. When picking out a location, make sure the location is convenient for everyone.
The perfect place doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to be expensive. There are a lot of good places where you can eat at reasonable prices. We’re mostly college students. The homemade way is also a great way! If some of you like to cook, y’all can prepare brunch together and then eat it. This will make it all the more satisfying! If you want to cook for all your friends, that works too. It can show them just how much you appreciate them by inviting them to your home If you are a disaster in the kitchen like me, here are some recipes and ideas that you can follow. This is an especially cheap option because brunch staples like eggs, bacon, flour, bread, and butter are relatively expensive. Serrucho is that you?
3. The Perfect Menu
Every person has their likes and dislikes. Some people like waffles, others prefer pancakes. Because of that, a diverse menu is necessary. Make sure that the place you choose has a wide variety of foods so your friends can choose their favorite one. If you have a vegan friend, the menu needs to have some vegan options in it. If you’re cooking, keep in mind what they like and if you are not sure, ask them. Also, make sure you know if any of them have some food allergy so the celebration isn’t interrupted by a visit to the hospital.
4. The perfect decoration
If you chose to stay home and cook with your gals, you are going to need something to set the ambiance ASAP. Go out with your friends and buy some decorations. This will be another bonding activity where you can have fun while running around the store, throwing silly things in the shopping car. Then you can get together to decorate the place and set the mood for the brunch. The decorations don’t have to be expensive, in fact, your gals and you can skip the shopping spree and make them yourself. Take out some paper and other materials that you have laying around and let your creativity run wild. Draw, paint and throw glitter around! Here is DIY to inspire and help you out!
5. Perfect = Having Fun
At the end of the day, the most important thing to do is have fun. The day is for you and your friends, and the perfect brunch is one next to them. Have a conversation, get up to date with each other, make plans for another day and laugh with them. It’s time to celebrate each other and have a good time between gals because no matter if you end burning the eggs, they will be next to you and that’s the important thing.
Now, what are you waiting for? Go make plans with your gals! I know I already did mine. Have a Happy Galentines and please remember to tell your friends how much you love and appreciate them.
