Name: Adriana Moledo

Age: 21

Major: Architecture

1. HCUPR: When did you start modeling and why?

Adriana: When I was 14. My mom used to be a model, and ever since I saw her pictures I wanted to do the same.

2. HCUPR: Who or what influenced you to compete in Miss PR Teen?

Adriana: I would say my grandma; growing up she used to tell me all the time that I was meant to be a beauty queen when I grew up; but it wasn’t until few years after she passed that I decided it was a fun growing experience and I should give it a try.

3. HCUPR: How was your journey in the competition?

Adriana: FUN. I got the chance to make lots of new friends, help many people through charity, and to live many other experiences that I know never would’ve happened if it wasn’t for the pageant. And come on! Who doesn’t like to dress up and wear make-up once in a while?

4. HCUPR: You are holding hands with the next possible Miss PR Teen and your name was called, what did you feel at that moment?

Adriana: I started crying immediately: all my hard work paid off. I just thought of how proud my grandma would’ve been.

5. HCUPR: What does it take to become a Miss PR Teen?

Adriana: It’s a lot of work but if you are committed to it a 100% and if you really want it you’ll enjoy the ride.

6. HCUPR: What life experience, moments, and friendships did you take from your time in Miss PR Teen?

Adriana: I got to travel a lot and meet people from all over the world. Helping others was the best part of this experience because you get the chance to prove to yourself and the whole world that being a beauty queen is way more than the beauty part.

7. HCUPR: As you continued modeling, have you competed in anything else and have won?

Adriana: Yes. I had the opportunity to travel to the International Competition (in the Dominican Republic) and came back with another crown. I enjoyed it to the fullest, I learned though the experiences and people I met while competing. I would definitely do it all over again.

8. HCUPR: How about hosting other competitions?

Adriana: It’s nerve-wracking. No matter how many times I do it, it still gets me nervous and I don’t know why. But somehow I’ve managed to overcome the nerves and enjoy the ride. Plus it has actually improved my memorizing skills as well as public speaking of course.

9. HCUPR: How has these experiences influenced you personally and academically?

Adriana: Personally: I’m not that shy anymore. Academically: a lot, especially in the architecture career because we have to constantly make presentations to different teachers, people, or clients, and now I can do it with no shame.

10. HCUPR: Will we be able to cheer you on in the next Miss Universe pageant?

Adriana:  I don’t think so, I’m too short… Plus right now I’m focused on architecture because I really want to get my BA and later move on to my master’s degree, which I really enjoy it as well. But you never know!

11. HCUPR: Have you considered entering the acting business? What is your dream job?

Adriana: When I was in high school I was part of the drama team, and I loved it, but I love architecture as well. So, throughout these four years of college I’ve decided that at some point in my life I’ll do something with set design in order to do a little bit of both.
