Once a while, we all need a day to ourselves. It is very important to do this, it helps to clear the mind and you get to learn new things about yourself. Also, you learn to be independent and happy all by yourself. There are many ways to do this but most of them consist of going out and spending a lot of money. This is where I come to the rescue, there are cheaper ways to do this and it will help to not only date yourself more often but also to keep a clear mind about the money issues. Here are a few to start off your date.
1. DIY Face Mask
Start off with a completely edible face mask. Face masks are amazing for cleansing the face and there are thousands out there, so you don’t need to go to a spa and pay who knows how much. After this mask, you will feel fresh and even more pretty. This mask is called the Cocoa Dream Hydration Mask, the steps are:
1. Mash one-quarter of an avocado in a small bowl.
2. Stir in one tablespoon of cocoa powder and one tablespoon of honey, mash and mix well.
3. Apply the mask to your clean, dry skin for 10 minutes.
4. Wash off with warm water, then moisturize as per usual.
2. Stay in your pj’s and drink your fave tea
Do not try to change clothing if you’re not going anywhere, stay in your comfiest pajamas the rest of the day and make some tea. Tea is a miracle worker, there is one for sleeping, for headaches, for basically everything! So just get into those pajamas, get your tea and go read a book or watch a movie.

3. Watch a sad movie.
It sounds weird but it actually helps. Watching a sad movie is like a detox for all of your backed up feelings. You start crying and after watching the movie you feel better; calm for the rest of the day. Also, get a pack of Kleenex because if you are typically the crying type then you are going to need it. Get your laptop and open Netflix!

4. Turn off your cell phone, hide it, get it out of sight
The whole point of having a date for yourself is to not pay attention to what is happening around you or in social media. Plus, if you really need a break from that someone (ugh) then take the battery off the phone just in case. Go explore a new place, walk around, breathe in the fresh air.
5. Find a comfy spot, lay down and listen to music.
Lay in your bed, on the floor, on the grass, just wherever you feel comfortable. Once you lay down to put your favorite music, whatever helps you calm down. Mine is the rap genre (Drake, Khalid, Kendrick…). Finally, look up, look at the clouds and let the music consume you, breathe slow, live the moment. It is therapeutic. The time will pass and you will forget what time it is. When you get up, stretch it out and just feel happy.
6. Bubble Bath
To finish your date, prepare a bubble bath and a glass of wine or whatever you like to drink. Just relax and try not to think about anything. Keep living the moment.
After this whole day, plan to do it again more often until it becomes a routine and soon enough you will be accustomed to just taking a day for yourself. It is never wrong to do this, you are the center of your universe, you come first and your health does too so never feel bad.
