Day eleven, and we only have 3 more couples left after this one. Arriving at Cute Campus Couple eleven, we can say that to these two perfect might be more than just an Ed Sheeran song.

Cute Campus Couple

Kenneth and Lixa

How’d you two meet?

L: We met somewhere between October and November of 2015 (my first year, his second year). He was in IUPICoop with some friends, and I was with a classmate ‘cause we had a project to do. She introduced me to the group, and we quickly became good friends. Then, we fast forward a year later, and we start dating and voilà, here we are.

How long have you been together?

L: We’ve been officially together for a year and 2 months. 3 months tomorrow!

HC: Congrats!

What was the first thing you noticed about each other?

K: Her smile, her hair and her shyness.

L: His hair and his laugh.

HC: It’s always hard to pick just one!

What makes your relationship work?

L: Definitely communication! We always try to express ourselves correctly and say what we think and how we honestly feel. We talk it out, and we both promise on being okay and solve any problem before going to be. We don’t go to sleep while being mad at each other. We solve it, and then, tomorrow is a new day.

HC: It’s amazing how this is the commonest answer. We have found the secret to keeping a happy relationship!

One word to describe your partner.

K: Perfect.

L: Perfect.

Talking with Kenneth and Lixa was definitely eye-opening because this interview was actually held a while back, so most of these answers might seem repetitive, but they’re genuine coincidences. This has us taking seriously the relationship advice these two dished out because seeing a common pattern in answers has left us understanding that communication is the true key to making a connection with anyone work be it friends, family members, a partner, etc. Note to self: always talk it out and don’t go to bed angry.

Side note from Luna: Lixa and I were friends from before, and I remember her talking about her crush and how they started going out. It was so cute, and look at them now! *insert heart eyes emoji*

So, from 1-10, how much did you like this couple?

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Josie is a senior in the UPR-Río Piedras campus, majoring in English Literature. When she's not on campus, you can find her browsing a bookstore (as if her TBR pile isn't big enough already!). Books and writing are what drives this girl--apart from fighting to destigmatize mental illnesses and raising awareness about the importance of consent. Josie enjoys traveling, bingeing on spicy food and a lot of sweets, blasting Bieber, and adding shows or movies to her Netflix queue that she'll never get to. Josie is a junior editor for the Rio Piedras chapter in Puerto Rico. If you want to see what else Josie is up to, you can catch her on her bookstagram.
Antoinette Luna is a Performance Studies and Comparative Literature major at the UPR. Her passions include writing, reading, and anything crafty. She loves to sew, write, and make things from scratch. DIY is the name of her game. Around campus, she is known as a bubbly young woman who goes by just Luna. Her future goals include traveling, traveling, and more traveling. Outspoken transfeminist, and wannabe activist, she's out to set fires.
