It’s the most wonderful time of the year. My favorite holiday is finally here, which means that the time has arrived for me to blast my go-to holiday playlist. Regardless of the year, I listen to this playlist non-stop as these Christmas classics never get old.

7. IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS BY PERRY COMO, THE FONTANE SISTERS, MITCHELL AYRES & HIS ORCHESTRA

Without a doubt, this song is one of the musical holiday staples that I play at the start of every November, all the way up to the end of the Christmas season. Just like the song states, once November begins, you start seeing Christmas everywhere you go.  All things (its lyrics and instrumentation) considered, this song knows exactly how to hype us all up for the upcoming winter season.

6. FELIZ NAVIDAD BY JOSÉ FELICIANO

You cannot simply have a Christmas celebration without the iconic voice of José Feliciano. This song is a Puerto Rican classic and an overall Christmas party playlist must-have. With its simplistic and warm lyrics, this song provides all the Christmas joy you’ll ever need. One of my grandmother’s favorite songs, this lovely tune is both special and close to my heart.

5. THIS CHRISTMAS BY DONNY HATHAWAY

This R&B soul Christmas song is sure to add  a relaxing touch to your holiday playlist. Released in the 1970s, this cool and calming song perfectly encapsulates those special moments shared with family and friends during this special time of the year.

4. ROCKIN’ AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE BY BRENDA LEE

Here’s the go-to song to listen to when decorating the Christmas tree. Throughout the tune, Brenda Lee’s voice shines in this rhythmic and catchy melody. Whether it’s rocking to this song with friends or watching that iconic scene in Home Alone, this fun harmonic tune is required in each and every Christmas playlist.

3. WINTER WONDERLAND BY BING CROSBY

The first time I heard this song was when I was a young girl, soon after watching the Eloise At Christmastime film. In a short and cute scene, Elosie (the protagonist) and her friend Bill have fun performing this song on the piano. Ever since then, I have adored this magical song. Though I have never seen snow, I wish someday I can walk in that winter wonderland Bing Crosby sings about.

2. THE CHRISTMAS SONG (MERRY CHRISTMAS) BY NAT KING COLE

This tune is a Christmas classic for the ages; perfect for those cozy, chestnuts-roasting, hot-chocolate-drinking, reflective moments. Nat King Cole’s unforgettable voice and beautiful lyrics cement the legacy of this melodic tune.

1. ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU BY MARIAH CAREY

Mariah Carey created a Christmas classic in the 1990s that has warmed the hearts of Grinches all over the world. Starting with those iconic piano chords, the song explodes into a joyful celebration of Holiday cheer as it progresses. This song has ultimately crowned Carey as the queen of Christmas.

These are just a few of the wonderful Christmas songs one can enjoy. Some of my honorable mentions include: Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande, Glittery by Kacey Musgraves & Troye Sivan, Last Christmas by Wham!, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Judy Garland, Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt and White Christmas by Bing Crosby/The Drifters.

All these songs bring the Christmas cheer and create the perfect mood for those special moments with your loved ones. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
