Suzette Quirós is experiencing life from the classroom to the catwalk. She is a senior at the Faculty of Education and an aspiring professional in the modeling world. Besides being a role model to elementary school kids, Suzette wants to find the road to success on and off the lens in the industry.
1. HC: What’s your favorite thing about being a model?
Suzette: Being a model has brought me countless opportunities but amongst all of them, I enjoy most the fact that I get to meet very talented people in the industry. I’ve had the privilege to work with amazingly designers, photographers, stylists and make-up artists. I have also met some recognized artists like José Feliciano, Braulio Castillo, Rafael Cennamo and America’s Next Top Model Jaslene González.
2. HC: How long have you been modeling?
Suzette: I have been blessed to be modeling for 5 years now.
3. HC: What do you consider is your best asset?
Suzette: I firmly believe that people instead of having a best asset they have a combination of good efforts. So having said that, I try to do my best in every opportunity I have to demonstrate my versatility and my positive attitude towards life.
4. HC: What’s the most rewarding part about modeling?
Suzette: I always love to see how the final product ends up. To me the most rewarding part about modeling is watching a commercial, runway video or photo in an editorial spread knowing that the client is completely satisfied with my work.
5. HC: Do you have any crazy stories when you’re on set on a photo shoot or on the runway?
Suzette: I definitely do. Modeling is always fun and spontaneous. I have done some crazy photo shoots in challenging locations all the way from the flowing waters on a river at El Yunque National Rainforest in Puerto Rico to the cold snow beds in Central Park in New York City.
6. HC: What has been the most exciting thing you’ve done as a model?
Suzette: The most exciting thing I have done as a model is traveling to New York City to walk the runway in the Fall/Winter 2013 Season of the New York Fashion Week.
7. HC: Any plans after graduation?
Suzette: After I graduate I look forward to develop myself in the international modeling industry.

8. HC: I’m sure you have tons of memories and experiences during your modeling years, anything you would like to share?
Suzette: My modeling career has been full of blessings. If I had to choose one I would say that the publication of one of my photos in the Vogue Italia website was a great achievement that I will cherish forever.
9. HC:What is your dream job?
Suzette: This is a difficult one. I can’t really pin-point one dream job. I have a lot of dreams that grow constantly based on my achievements. I’m always ready to grasp every opportunity because I believe that no dream is too big.
10. HC: What would be your advice to those who want to get involved in modeling?
Suzette: Trust yourself. That would be my advice. Confidence is a piece of glory and one has to enrich that in order to scale up in this industry.
11. HC: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Suzette: I’m the type of person that doesn’t have a life plan. I try to live my life day by day. I’m sure that I will take advantage of all the opportunities that will help me grow personally and professionally in the industry.
12. HC: Anything else you would like to add?
Suzette: The world is all about endless invitations; go confidently in the directions of your dreams. Thus, as much as you dream, you can be.
