This week’s Campus Cutie is no ordinary girl. Standing at 5’10, she has legs for days, this week’s cutie has quite the exotic look. She’s a plus size model who has worked in New York, at a very young age at the International Modeling and Talent Association. She’s got the looks, the face, the poise, but most importantly, the brains. Meet this week’s Campus Cutie, Luisa Vázquez!

HCUPR: What inspired you to get into modeling?Luisa: We live on an island when the average woman is curvy. There isn’t a lot of representation for that type of body. Looking like the average woman is pretty important. We get to do the same runways, same portraits, and even walk in the same shoes; the only difference is we have bigger curves. Beauty goes beyond sizes.
HCUPR: So you were a sporty girl in high school, and you’ve said volleyball was your passion. Why?Luisa: It’s a sport where you use a lot of teamwork. Not only that, people don’t know how great the adrenaline feels. It’s a sport that anything can happen, it’s unpredictable.
HCUPR: Tell us something not many people know about you.Luisa: I hunt and I dive.
HCUPR: What places would you like to travel and why?Luisa: That’s a tough one! I have a bit of a list: Abu Dhabi, because of it’s rich history, beauty, and not to mention the amazing hotels. Egypt: The pyramids. India: Because of it’s animals, especially the elephants. I’d also like to visit Hawaii and Bora-Bora.
HCUPR: Where do you see yourself in ten years?Luisa: I see myself as a professional, with all my degrees to date, with a Ph. D, having my own clinic as a naturopath. And hopefully, with a beautiful family, pets included.
HCUPR: Describe your ideal date and partner.Luisa: The date is actually kind of cute. During the day I would go to a forrest or a natural place like El Yunque, with the river and the waterfalls, and have a picnic. Then at night, we both get ready to have a romantic dinner at a restaurant. My ideal partner is someone who is kind hearted, he can be himself around me and viceversa, more than just a boyfriend, someone I can trust, like my best friend. Someone who is romantic, takes note in every detail, sincere faithful and a sensible man.
HCUPR: Why did you pick nutrition?Luisa: Ever since I was a child, I’ve always been treated with natural medicine. It wouldn’t make sense to me to go study something that I don’t necessarily believe in. There are alternatives that are great for your body that are natural.
HCUPR: Who is your role model and why?Luisa: I would have to pick between God and my mom. Everything I do is to make them feel proud. In the worst times, God has acted in the most righteous way. And even though he was betrayed, he learned to forgive. That’s something we should all aspire to.
