When you think of our home, from an outsider’s point of view, you imagine bright and sunny days filling up your calendar most of the time. Recently, the weather here has been everything but! The rain has taken over, making driving here feel as if you are a character in Dante’s Inferno and walking to your class a game of hopscotch, jumping over any puddle you can because you forgot to put on closed shoes that day. Even in summer we had limited days of sunshine as if the classic April showers were held back a couple of months.

All of this rain can be a total drag, but think of it as a soothing cleanse. Once you arrive home, all you have to do is pay attention to the pitter patter of the water droplets hitting your window, snuggle up in your bed with your favorite novel or our beloved Netflix, or unwind with music.

Besides catching up on Game of Thrones by reading the gazillion paged novels (doesn’t matter because they are awesome!), there are plenty of other novels waiting for you to grab them off of the bookshelf. Here is a cool list of 14 Books to Read before They Hit the Big Screen by Buzzfeed.

What’s hot in Netflix? TV Series! They have loads just waiting for you to watch them. Here are the most popular ones; Take your pick!

·         Orange is the New Black

·         House Of Cards

·         Breaking Bad

·         Portlandia

·         The Walking Dead

·         How I met Your Mother

·         New Girl

·         Parks and Recreation

·         30 Rock

·         Mad Men

·         Arrested Develpoment

·         Doctor Who

Whenever it’s drizzling or pouring outside, you think of music and the first thing that comes to mind is anything that is chill. For that we have got you covered. Here is a playlist with some of our songs that go perfectly paired with the recent, constant showers which include Coldplay, Radiohead, Purity Ring, Norah Jones, Massive Attack, and more.

Whether it is a false alarm, like Gabrielle, or a legit hurricane, we have got you covered with all of these possibilities to make your day at home a brighter one!
