Getting tired of studying in the same old place? Is Lazaro library just too overrated? Or maybe your go-to studying spot is not what it used to be? We got you!

If you’re ready to swap the familiar library setting for hidden nooks, this is the article for you! Whether you’re searching for solitude because you have a critical exam or simply looking for a change of scenery for your daily readings and homework, these hidden UPRRP campus gems promise to provide a different, and maybe even inspiring, backdrop for anything and everything academic.

It’s certainly time to mix things up and find a place, not only suitable for studying, but that creates a deeper connection with your campus. Let’s dive in!

1. CRiiAS

Natural Sciences Faculty

Are you a student looking for a cool and aesthetic place to study? Then CRiiAS should be your go-to!
CRiiAS is in the Natural Sciences Faculty. It’s sort of new and exclusive since not many people know about it. They have an amazing establishment with lots of sitting spaces, charging outlets, and AIR CONDITIONING that works fantastically! Their work lounge has lots of comfortable sitting—so, it’s not just regular desks with chairs, they have sofas!

Plus, CRiiAS is constantly hosting different activities, conferences, art exhibitions, and workshops.
I would say CRiiAS is an amazing resource and place to be if you’re looking for a comfortable library vibe.

2. Education Faculty

Whether it’s on the first floor, communing with nature, on the second floor’s Computing Room, or even on the best bench on campus, on the third floor close to the Students Aid office, the Education Faculty is THE place to be. It’s peaceful and has that warm and cozy feeling one looks for when in search of a nice place to study. (One might say the Education Faculty has a set of nooks within a nook).

Frankly, I’m a bit biased since the Education Faculty is my default go-to place to study. One might say, I am a proud Education’s major student. I will never stop recommending this place.

Depending on the spot you choose, you’ll have access to various charging outlets for your laptop and/or tablet, comfortable sitting, and the occasional table for support. Also, the air conditioning, although it sometimes gets a little moody, works—so be sure to bring an occasional jacket (you’re going to need it!)

Not a cold kind of person? The perfect spot to defrost is out in the open! The natural breeze can warm you up in a heartbeat. However, if it’s a breezy day, hang on tight. It will get very comfortable.

3. Study Rooms

Specifically in the General Studies Faculty Library

UPRRP has several libraries that are equipped with study rooms. However, I have found that the General Studies Faculty Library has the best ones! Mainly, because of the enormous space and their comfortable sofas.

Technically, the library isn’t hidden but it does come with some exclusivity, since not many people know about the advantages of reserving your own study room! The rooms are also equipped with computers if you do not have your own and cables to connect directly to the universities’ internet. Be sure to try it out!

If you can’t make it, there’s still so much room in the library common room!

Disclaimer: these study rooms need to be reserved through the System Library website. However, if they are empty, they will allow you to use it until someone who has reserved it needs it.

4. Humanities Faculty (first floor)

If you’re looking to study amongst nature and love the occasional cat sightings as much as we do, the Humanities Faculty is the ideal place for you. They have a community area where you can find benches filled with colorful patterns and mosaics. The outdoor picnic tables really give it an amazing finishing touch. The Humanities Faculty sets the tone for a more enhanced studying experience surrounded by creativity and peace.

Also, just a thought, no one is stopping you from bringing a giant picnic blanket and relaxing with your friends on a cute study date!

However, if this doesn’t sound like your go-to place and you’re looking for a little bit more solitude, there are also hallways—like the one in the picture above—that have an excellent view of the garden. There are no comfortable sitting areas, but sometimes lying on the floor gives a sense of satisfaction a chair never could (speaking from experience).

5: Any empty classroom!

Yes, you read that right! Any empty classroom, in any faculty, can be a place to study in. However, they need to be open and you have to be aware if there are any classes soon. Other than that, you are free to roam and use the classroom’s resources, any way you want! Do as you must with this magnificent—and classified—information.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret… I have just shared with you my personal favorite studying places. These are the most peaceful, concentration-worthy, and unique places I’ve experienced. I invite you to take a look for yourself and relax in a new place—and way—of studying. And who knows? Maybe you’ll see me around.
