I love friendships. This is a shoutout to all of my people that have been there for me since the beginning of time, and to the people who did me dirty and really were not there for me too! You know who you are, or you may not, still… here it goes.

The first memory I have of a friend is my next door neighbor, Abigail, who I was automatically best friends with because her mom introduced my parents to each other. Funny story, I moved towns when I started the fourth grade, so that meant that I would no longer see Abigail at school. Much to my surprise she moved the next year to the same town that I lived in and ended up going to the same school as me. I cried when I saw her in line going into her fifth grade classroom; I think she was embarrassed because I completely skipped over to her and gave her the biggest hug in front of the entire 5th grade.

When I started middle school that little duo became a bigger group of friends. I’m not joking when I say that I miss my middle school friendships so much. Middle school was rough but I had an amazing group of friends to get me through it. I still remember Ivette, Luz, Melanie, Nayeli, Alejandra, Jazmine… there’s more, I know for sure, but middle school was so wild with the girls. So much happened during that time like my first relationship and how they were there the entire month that it happened.

When high school happened, there we were, taking freshman year by storm. I made more friends there like Stephanie, who I never stopped laughing at because she was so goofy, and Juli, who quickly became my hype man. I was so sad when I moved away.

Nevertheless, I kept in touch with them. I was excited to make new friends in this new town that I moved to. And so I went on my search. I made some questionable friends my sophomore year, who ended up being backstabbers and totally confusing, but I’m not even mad because I made better friends in the remaining years of highschool. That same year, I met my theatre friends. If you know, you know. Theatre kids are a different type of breed, no cap. Shoutout to the GMP cast and crew cause that basically summarizes my friends. Y’all are the light of my life.

Now that I am in college, they are dearly missed. Even though it’s kind of difficult to make friends in college just because there are so many people, I’ve managed to find a few. Shoutout to my freshman year friends, y’all made the college experience relatable, Abby and Kat and Emelina, Whitney, and Nic- go off sisters! The friends I have now, like Tierra, who came in clutch, she got me!

Last but not least, my beautiful out of school friends. Keren, Melisa, Perla… will forever hold a special place in my heart. Elizabeth, Sarai, Lissette, Daynelees… my “Corazon Sin Cara” crew– so much love. Thanks for adopting me into the family. Special shoutout to Jacqueline, and my built in best friend Edin.

I love friendships, and that’s the tea sis.
