With masks causing us to only see half our faces, makeup has become more featured on the eyebrow and eyeshadow game.

My beginnings doing brows definitely do not compare to today, with them being blocky, the wrong color, and made from the eyeshadow. Let’s just say my awakening to how bad they looked got me started in looking for my favorite product to use these past few years. While I certainly am not claiming to still be an expert, my experience can help guide you in what products to refrain from and look towards when wanting to up your brow game.

  1. NYX Micro Brow Pencil Vegan Eyebrow Pencil

Great for highlighting your brow hairs, even those with thin brows like me. However, the product goes quickly and has a tendency to break easily.

  1. NYX Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen Waterproof Eyebrow Pen

By far my favorite brow product because it allows you to create strokes that can help clean up your brow look and make a sparse brow fuller. The product looks very natural. The product is not waterproof like it claims, leaks, and is more for those willing to learn how to use the product as it is like that of the application of liquid eyeliner. While it leaks, you still get a lot of use out of the product but makes for a bit messy application. The downfalls of the product still being overpowered by the realistic outcome you can get.

  1. NYX Fill & Fluff Eyebrow Pencil Pomade

Allows you to fill your brows and contains a lot of product itself, allowing you to use it longer. The product is easy to use but easy to smear if you touch your face often. As well, you can’t create individual brow hairs.

  1. NYX Precision Eyebrow Pencil

Has similar properties to the NYX Fill & Fluff in letting you fill your brows easily while containing a decent amount of product in the applicator. The pencil doesn’t smear as much, and you can sort of creating individual hairs, but it isn’t as thin or natural-looking as other products.

  1. Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara

Best used for those looking for a simple application and aren’t wanting to create as defined of an eyebrow look. The product from my memory smeared quite a bit. This product however is the most affordable and gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

  1. Maybelline TattooStudio Brow Tint Pen

The product was super easy to use and had a lot of pigment for having a multi-prong applicator. I really liked this product when I found it as it was a liquid product and created natural full brows. However, the blonde at the time of my use turned green by the end of the night and the product ran out quickly.

  1. Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade

Despite all the rave for this product, this was my least favorite. While I admit it might be my technique, this product was difficult to use and created brows that were blocky. I bought multiple different applicator brushes and couldn’t get what I wanted out of the product. As well, I felt like it was never secure on my face and that it was the most prone to smear even though it never did. The product in my opinion is good for filling already bushy brows but not for sparse.

  1. Benefit Cosmetics Brow Microfilling Eyebrow Pen

This product required you to buy two shades darker than you normally would and has a very limited shade line. I liked the product due to its easy application and the natural brows it could create. However, this product went quick and on top of its limited shades, is really just overpriced for what else you can find on the product. It didn’t smear much though.
