In honor of Election Day, here are some movies that encapsulate a powerful female spirit!

  1. Legally Blonde (2001) – An iconic film that remains quotable to this day. Elle Woods is forever a role model.

  2. The Post (2017) – A biopic of the famed editor of the Washington Post, featuring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks acting their butts off.

  3. Hidden Figures (2016) – A biopic about Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, prominent African-American women who were at NASA during the 1960’s. A trio of incredible actresses (Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae) truly make this.

  4. The Devil Wears Prada (2006) – I know I already have another Meryl Streep role, but this is too iconic to pass up. Another immensely quotable film about the high-stakes fashion magazine world.

  5. Wonder Woman (2017) – Would this list be complete without the Wonder Woman herself? A new and fresh take on her story, as well as the first live-action film Wonder Woman has ever gotten!

Journalism major. I like dogs, poetry, and iced coffee, in that order.
