Love on Tour- An Experience Worth the Wait

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNT chapter.

I’ve been waiting for Love on Tour for almost two years. I bought my tickets when we didn’t know the show would be pushed back so far, but it was worth the wait – Mr. Styles did not disappoint.

While the line to get in was hectic (the American Airline Center had no method to their madness), we made it in with plenty of time before the opening act, Jenny Lewis, started her set.

The Love on Tour merch was cute, and I bought a shirt with the tour dates on the back, a baseball cap stating “Harry is my friend,” and a keychain with the iconic rabbit symbol.

Everyone at the show had to show proof of vaccination or show a negative covid test before entering the building. As soon as we entered the arena, we could hear a pre-recorded PSA from Harry himself thanking everyone for coming, taking precautions, and taking care of each other.

Everyone around us kept their mask on the entire show, and even Harry put his on when he wasn’t on the stage. Even though going to such a large event can be scary in such uncertain times, Harry’s team made sure it was as safe as it could be. #tpwk

Let’s talk about the setlist.

No show will ever have the perfect setlist, considering not every song can be performed (though I’m sure not a single person would’ve complained if that was the case.) But overall, it was beautifully constructed and we danced all night to the best songs ever.

He started the night off with ‘Golden,’ which really set the tone for the rest of the night.

Every song sounded even better live, from ‘Canyon Moon’ to ‘Lights Up.’

‘Two Ghosts’ is one of my favorite Harry songs, but we only got to hear a snippet before he transitioned into ‘Falling.’

Two songs that were missing were ‘Sweet Creature’ and ‘To Be So Lonely.’ Two of my favs, but I’m holding out hope that I’ll hear those at future concerts.

Hearing ‘What Makes You Beautiful” live was an out-of-body experience, especially for someone who has been listening to One Direction for years.

Harry ended the night with ‘Kiwi,’ which really left everyone on a concert high, especially since a lot of us hadn’t seen a live show in almost two years.

The highlight of the entire night? Harry caught a cowboy hat that was thrown at him, and I’ve never seen a man pull off that look quite like him. I will never forget witnessing him tip the hat like an old southern gentleman. Simply iconic.

Until my next live show (5sos, I’m coming for you next), I will not know happiness.
