Lindsey Sageser- Her Campus UNT Secretary

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNT chapter.

I had the pleasure to ask our Her Campus UNT Secretary, Lindsey Sageser, some questions for this week’s profile. Quirky, inspired, and determined, Lindsey is a great addition to not only our chapter’s team, but our new executive board. Read below to learn more about her!

What’s your major and goal for the rest of your life? I’m double majoring in English Literature and Journalism. This mostly just stemmed from extreme indecision on my part. I love to read and I love to write, so now I’m just trying to figure out which one I want to do for the rest of my life.

What made you want to become a member of the executive board for our chapter? I decided to become an exec for Her Campus because I love the potential that this organization has to inspire, reach out to, and connect with college women. Becoming an exec was my way of saying that I admire this organization and want to help improve its online content quality as much as I am able.

What are your hopes for Her Campus UNT this school year? I really hope to see Her Campus UNT grow this year, both in readership and active members.

What are your hobbies/favorite things to do when you’re bored? Oh goodness, I don’t really have a favorite hobby! I just kind of flounder around within a bunch of little activities that I enjoy. I love to read and write, obviously, but I also like to craft, knit (poorly), do puzzles, and watch bad TV with my friends. Basically just ask any 70 year old woman how she likes to spend her time and you will hear a list of my hobbies.

If you were trapped on a desert island and could only bring two items with you, what would they be? I’m just going to tell you what I would bring entertainment-wise, because I have no survival skills and would die almost instantly if given flint and a machete. I think my first item would be a box set of all the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson books, because they’re funny and I loved them when I was in middle school and I think that a few nostalgia-filled chuckles would stave me off the brink of insanity for a while. My second item would be a mattress so that I wouldn’t have to sleep on the ground. I feel like these aren’t very good answers but at least you get a glimpse of where my priorities are.

Orooj Syed is a senior at the University of North Texas, majoring in Biology and minoring in Criminal Justice. Between balancing her academics and extracurricular activities, she enjoys finding new places to travel and new foods to eat. Writing has always been one of her greatest passions and, next to sleeping, she considers it a form of free therapy.
