F*ck Finals… Let’s Shop for Shoes Online Instead

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNT chapter.

Scientists state that shoe retail therapy is proven to be the only effective stress-relief and anti-depressant among college women – I just made that up, but my point is worry less about finals and a 4.0 and get your shoes into formation. Whether your classes are resuming in the Summer or the Fall, it’s never too early to start “back-to-school shopping.” Just make sure all of your bases are covered: you need at least two pairs of trainers, one for working out and the other for your more casual ootd’s, you’ll also need shoes for summer vacay’s, summer classes, going out with your girl gang, and shoes for the upcoming Fall semester – but no rush on that last one. Below is a list of 11 extremely affordable online shoe websites to shop from – I promise it’ll be more fun than studying for finals.

But first, here’s what you should be looking for…

Snake Skin Print

Snake skin print is one of the biggest trends of 2019. It’s been on everything from jackets to leggings and everything else in-between, but now they’re elevating it. Snake skin print is now available in a multitude of colors, but any fashionista or fashion blogger worth their salt is rocking red.

Velvet

Velvet shoes are a MUST, particularly dark blue velvet.

White Booties

These days, the only rule in fashion is that there are no rules. I predict people will be wearing their all-white shoes long after Labor Day has passed.

Chunky Sneakers

The “dad shoes” trend isn’t going anywhere. In fact, it is from this trend that a lot of other trends were born. For example, the yellow shoes trend. All gym shoes that have the smallest bit of yellow in them sell out extremely fast, but the one’s that are solid yellow are the first to sell out. And speaking of solid yellow shoes, while you’re at it, go ahead and add solid yellow heels to your shopping cart.

Embroidery

It’s not just on jackets and jeans anymore!

Block Heel Booties

Block heel booties are the ultimate trend of 2019, they’re easier to walk in, comfortable to stay in, and most importantly, they’re versatile. They can be worn in any setting professional or fancy, and they’re also casual enough to wear to class.

Animal Print

My favorite on-again off-again trend is back! Cheetah-print boots are the ultimate statement shoes–they can really punctuate any outfit. My favorite way to style them is with either an all-black outfit or denim on denim.

Lace Up Heels

Aren’t these perfect for Summer! Though, what I love most about lace up shoes like the one’s pictured above is they can be worn all year around.

Red Shoes

Solid red boots are another thing that really punctuate an outfit and are the ultimate mark of a baddie. Red shoes look best with a denim on denim outfit which will give you chic retro vibes, or a cheetah outfit which screams fashionista.

Buckles

Boots with buckles, especially like the one’s pictured above, is one of this year’s edgiest trends.

Metallics

Whether it’s just a tiny detail on the heel, or the whole entire shoe is made of that metallic material, metallics are a must. And while you’re at it, the glitter trend is also making a huge impact in 2019, so add some glittery shoes to your wardrobe as well. After all, isn’t glitter a girls best friend?

Chelsea Boots

Not your average Chelsea boots! Chelsea Boots have been around for a long time now and, like most trends that prove to be successful in the fashion industry, they’ve been updated. Have fun shopping all the different variations of the Chelsea Boot.

Just call her the next black Anna Wintour. Don Davis is in her third year at the University of North Texas. She is currently pursuing two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She is also pursuing two minors, one in Marketing and the other in Photography, with the hopes of one day becoming a print and digital reporter, more specifically, a fashion writer, and then getting promoted to fashion editor. However, her ultimate goal is editor-in-chief.
Scotlyn is a UNT alum, Class of 2020. She graduated with a degree in Digital and Print Journalism and a minor in English. During her time with Her Campus, she served as the Chapter President for two years, and also held positions as Chapter Advisor, Writer, and Chapter Expansion Assistant through Her Campus Media. And yes, her name is like the country, but spelled differently.
