Death is a crazy thing, but also can be a beautiful thing, if you are a believer. Death can be scary to some, and not so scary to others. Death can be expected, but in most cases unexpected. At some point in our life, young or old, we’ve experienced some form of loss, whether it was from a loved one, a pet, or even a celebrity. At the end of the day, it’s a process and everyone’s grief is different.

There isn’t anything wrong with how you choose to grieve, and there isn’t anything wrong with choosing to grieve over someone you may have or have not had a personal relationship with, for example celebrities.

Recently, the world has experienced the loss of many celebrities that has impacted some or most individuals across the world, and those moments were unexpected.

Going through the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant to Mac Miller taking his life away. Those were unexpected moments and took a toll on many, fans or not.

Personally, the death of Juice World caught me off guard, and I couldn’t mentally process that one of my favorite artists wasn’t here on earth anymore, and call me selfish, but it also hit home that I wouldn’t be getting any more music from him, ever. As stated before, it is a process and there can be mental healing to get you through the process.

Some things that have helped me, is to just remember them for who they were.

I watch interviews, and of course listen to Mac’s and Juice’s music. Their life lives on through their music. Mac’s new album Circles, that his family released 2 years later after his death, entails life throughout the entire album. Listening to that, it’s hard to think of the negatives and not see the positives.

Watching Kobe and Gianna’s memorial service and seeing the legacy that Kobe left behind and the impact Gianna did with her 14 years on earth, was inspiring and miraculous. It just makes you want you to do the good and be the good in memory of them.

Depending on who the individual is, whether it is an actor, artist, or athlete, be encouraged in some ways they kept positivity and light through their atmosphere.

The impact that they had on you and others, think about it. For example, when Nipsey Hussle passed away, it took a shock on so many people across the world, but everyone kept his name and continues to keep his name alive by living by his teachings and brand, “The Marathon Continues.”

Although we may never get another interview, shocking play in a game, or music, it doesn’t mean that their legacy stops there. Live it, stream it, talk about it, think about the positives, and celebrate. Their death does not have to be the ending of their legacy.
