India Session is among a number of growing girl bosses unsatisfied with the arduous and often unfulfilling 9 to 5 route to success. She started building her makeup brand about 2 years ago and named her business India Liana, after her first and middle name.
In order to get a more in-depth understanding of Session and her business, India Liana, we asked her some questions about her brand and goals for the future.
What was a defining moment for you when it came to beauty?
“For me it was when I first got my makeup done at a MAC counter for my 16th birthday. I just remember how amazing it made me feel and I knew from that day on that makeup and beauty would play a big part in my life.”
What are your goals as far as with your brand?
“I want to become an entrepreneur and build my own my own platform/following through social media.”
What does beauty mean to you?
“To me, it means everything, as shallow as it might sound at first. I think beauty is obviously more than just makeup. It’s how you treat your body and your skin before you even put the makeup on. If you are not taking care of your body by what you put inside of it then it will show through your skin. Also, investing in good skincare is a must as well. The key to flawless makeup is flawless skin.”
India Session’s words are a reminder to all realized and potential glamazons that the most important tool in our beauty bag is confidence and self-love. Without it, it doesn’t matter if you layer on the latest foundation, there will always be blemishes that can never be concealed.
