8 Ways to Make Your Staycation Count this Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNT chapter.

Spring break is coming up, which means everywhere from South Padre to Miami will be packed with college kids looking for a good time. If you are like me, and are staying home this spring break, check out these ideas for staycation ideas to make the break count!

1. Go outside

If you haven’t gone exploring lately, this is your chance. Go on a hike, breathe the fresh air and take in your surroundings. Our Earth is so beautiful, we just have to take the time to appreciate it. Plus, it is a great opportunity to work out!

2. Visit a museum/art gallery

Whether you stay in Denton, or venture off to somewhere like Dallas, there are plenty of options for you to see! Fun and educational, a win-win.

3. Try something new

Have you been dying to try that new ramen place? Or really want to go to Texas Tulips for the first time? DO IT! Life is short, and we only get so many spring breaks while we are in college. Make them count!

4. Have a girls night

Grab your besties, dress up, and go to dinner. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. Take the time to catch up, indulge in some good food and, most importantly, relax!! Hanging our with friends is the best way to get all things stressful off your mind!

5. Hit the pool

Even if you or your friends don’t have one, check and see if a local one is open! This way, you still get a bit of the spring break experience you’ve been craving without having to drive to the beach.

6. Pamper yourself

Go and get a much needed mani/pedi. Always wanted to get a massage? Do it! Spring break is the perfect time to destress, and you need to take full advantage!

7. Go to a local event

Denton always has something going on, so take some time to check out what they have going on that week! If you aren’t staying in Denton, the same rule applies for your city. Trust me, Google is your friend!

8. Catch up on your sleep

If you are anything like me, sleep is limited when you have work, classes, organizations and a social life. Use this week to catch up on some much needed, and deserved, sleep!
