1. BOX BRAIDS: Ahh!! The classic. This is my go-to protective style especially when I just do not have any idea what to do with my hair anymore. Box braids are especially awesome with length retention because they shield your natural curls, and reduce the chances of damage to your hair.
2. CROCHET BRAIDS: These take a little amount of time to do which makes them one of my favorite protective hairstyles. There are different types of crochet braids to do; it could be twists, braids, curly crochet, faux locs, and much more. So, when you’re getting tired of one of your crochet looks, you can mix it up by going for another style of crochet braids to protect your natural locs.
3. WIGS: Wigs come in different styles, colors, lengths, and densities but we all have to agree that they save us so much time. Wigs are easy to install, and take so little time to use. However, you can always switch up your wig looks all the time. Furthermore, wigs keep your natural hair all under the hairpiece, protecting your hair from breakage, humidity, and tension.
4. JUMBO BRAIDS: Like box braids, these are perfect for length retention. However, since they are much larger than traditional box braids, they save a lot of time.
5. TWISTS: Twists come in different types, sizes, and forms so you don’t get tired of them. You can opt for some cute flat twists, or spice things up with Senegalese twists. One thing I’m sure of is that you’ll never get bored with this hairstyle.
