Spring Break Survival Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNL chapter.

It’s about that time again. All of us want to bask in the sunlight in our skimpy summer clothes. Just one problem, snow and ice are making their comeback to Nebraska as we speak. Not to mention that we have an everyday high of 20 degrees. It isn’t much of the summer atmosphere we were all hoping for. However, we are all in luck! The perk of second semester is the wonderful week known as Spring Break. Instead of making our way home, most college students will be getting away to one of many tropical locations. Spring Break is a week full of fun, excitement, and making memories that will be with you forever.  However, in order to make this week the best it can be and to make sure you return back to campus safely follow these simple rules.

  1. We all know what spring break is all about, so to make sure you are staying healthy and hydrated by drinking all the water you can get.
  2. Prior to Spring Break most of us start our pre-tan at the tanning salon so that we don’t appear washed out from the lack of Nebraskan sun. Either way, once you get to your location be sure to lather up in sunscreen to prevent from looking like a lobster.
  3. The most important rule that you should remember for the sake of your own safety is to NEVER go anywhere alone. Always remember the buddy system and travel in groups of at least three to four people to avoid any reckless activity.

Follow these simple guidelines and the amount of fun you are having will be all you need to worry about!
