If you love beauty vloggers, you have probably heard the names Jeffree Star and Manny MUA. You probably also know that they just released a collaboration that had the Internet going buck wild. The collaboration consists of two liquid lipsticks. One is a extremely cool-tone brown that almost has a greyish undertone, named “Daddy.” The other is a beautiful burnt coral color that is perfect for spring named “I’m Shook.” You might think these names are a bit odd, but they are catch phrases used a lot by Manny and Jeffree, although it might feel weird telling people your lipstick color name is “Daddy” if someone asks, at least the names are true to the creators. Not any worse the NARS’ “Orgasm” right? Finally, what I, and many others were most excited for was the highlighter in the bundle. Called “Skin Frosts,” Jeffree Star’s highlighters tend to be stunners, and the collab’s frosty peach color named “Eclipse” looked no different.

I was one of those people hovering Jeffree Star’s website, debit card in hand waiting to get my hands on the bundle that included all of the items at a discounted price. I ended up succeeding in my endeavor and just recently had my package arrive. I don’t think I have ever been more excited to receive a package in my life, not even kidding. So after trying these products for about a week, do I think the hype and excitement over these products was worth it?

In short, yes. Yes, I do.  I will say that the liquid lipstick formula worried me when I first tried it because unlike my other Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, these felt a bit drier on my lips. After applying a bit of lip balm before each application and giving the bottle a little shake, I found them to be quite comfortable and very flattering on the lips. I think they are great colors for spring and summer; “Daddy” is a great everyday color if you’re wanting to add a bit of grunge to your look. “I’m Shook” is perfect for a night out with friends, or if you’re like me, you can wear these bad boys whenever and wherever you want. “Eclipse” is my favorite thing from the collab, it has the perfect amount of pigment, to where your cheekbones look blinding, but not so much so that it distracts from your overall look. I think this peachy highlighter is a must-have and would be gorgeous on any skin tone.  I recommend this collection to anyone who can get their hands on it, I believe there will be a restock on Jeffree Star’s website around the first week of May.
