Make the Most of Your Tuition Costs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNL chapter.

Being a college student has a lot of downfalls: student loans, studying late hours, working part time, eating ramen on a daily basis and more. However, there are a lot of positives that come along with outrageous expensive tuition costs. Are you making the most of your UNL experience?

Computer checkouts

Don’t have a laptop? Did your computer just take an unexpected turn down water damage lane? We’ve all been there. Luckily, UNL offers Macbooks that are available for students to checkout. You can even check out certain ones that have programs that you may need already installed, like Adobe CC (be sure to double check where you need to go for those ones).

Library

Who uses the library anymore? No one I really know of. But does it really make sense to buy that book you’ve been itching to read when the Love library might have it on hand? It never hurts to double-check and it could save you cash.

Tutoring Resources

Not the best writer? Flunking your math class? Can’t figure out the French language to save your life? Did you know that there are resources set up on campus to help students figure out exactly what’s going on in their classes? In these places around campus there are individuals there to help guide you in the right direction or help explain concepts.

Interview Practice

Are you nervous for that upcoming internship interview? Do you not have a clue what you’re supposed to include on your resume? The career center is here to help! They have individuals there that will set up mock interviews with students and even proof read or help develop a resume one-on-one. They will make you feel confident going out and getting a job or internship.

Multimedia Checkout

Along with being able to check out laptops, the library and the journalism school also provide camcorder, DSLR, microphone and lighting checkouts. So the next time you are taking that random photography class, don’t consider dropping $500+ on a new DSLR, just check one out!
