Just to clarify, by no means am I YouTube famous or anywhere close, but last summer I made the decision to make a Youtube channel. Like most girls, I am obsessed with watching Youtube. I love channels like Cody Ko, Emma Chamberlain, and David Dobrik, I watch all the comedians, all the vloggers, and sometimes even beauty gurus. I started watching these videos and I thought to myself, “this seems fun, I could do this”. Ever since high school, everytime I go on a vacation, I would bring my little Series 3 GoPro and “vlog” my trip, then I would make little video montages. I lived for this and would itch to go back on vacation. I could make a cool, little video, through some music behind it, and post it on Instagram. Making these videos was the highlight of my trips. While editing, all the happy memories would rush back into my mind.

I upped the ante senior year and started filming football games, and just random days with my friends. Not until last year, did I even think about starting a youtube channel. A lot of people try to start a channel to become famous like David Dobrik or Emma Chamberlain, making millions of dollars and modeling for Louis Vuitton, (don’t get me wrong, I would LOVE that) but that’s not the case for me. When I would bring out that little GoPro, all of my friends and everyone around me would instantly come together. That little spark brought me so much happiness, and having the ability to film little moments, gave me so many amazing memories. My first official youtube video was a thrifting in Cape Cod video I made with my sister. We had such a fun time filming, editing, and actually got some cute clothes with sick deals. That day is something I’ll remember and can relive the memories through watching.

My next big video was UNH homecoming. I was so happy when I was filming and editing, because that same spark that happened in high school happened again. Everyone lights up when the camera comes out and it brings up the energy in the room. Everyone comes together, puts their best face forward, and the best part is, “do it for the vlog” is a real life thing.
