I would never expect that I would be living in my college town for the summer until now. As soon as my apartment lease starts in early June, I will be living in Durham for the months of summer in addition to the school year. It will definitely be a change from what I am used to. Wake up to pet my dog and go tan on my back porch, instead, I will be waking up with 3 of my best friends in our favorite town. I am lucky enough that I will only be an hour away from my hometown but an hour is still an hour.

I have heard Durham is close to a ghost town during the months of summer which is a big change compared to how I see it now. I am looking forward to really living on my own this time but it’s still scary to think about. The summer in this town will mostly consist of me and my friends working nearly every day and that time off I know will be very well spent. With Hampton Beach just 30 minutes away I know we will spend those days on the beach as well as biking around Main St. which we have yet to do on the busy sidewalks of Durham.

College is really flying by and I still want to make the most of it. The months coming up will be a change for me, but change is always good especially when it is made with people you love.
