Style Interview: Jamie McDonough

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Jamie McDonough-Senior-Internal Affairs and Commmunications Major

How would you describe your style?

Classy, chic, and comfortable! I love when I feel like a million dollars while wearing a simple dress.

What are you wearing?

I have on my favorite hot pink Top Shop dress, as well as a shift dress that I found at Believe Boutique in Paris. Both are paired with a scarf I found on the streets of Barcelona, and tan Tahari boots from TJ Maxx!

What are you most excited to wear this fall?

My fall fashion consists of two staple items: scarves and boots.  I can’t wait for sweater weather this year.

How will you transition your summer wardrobe to fall?

I love my summer clothes, but nothing beats busting out my riding boots on the first chilly day! I am in love with all the tall boots I see girls wearing around campus.

 Favorite go-to outfit?

On those days that lack inspiration, I can quickly match a dressy shirt with skinny jeans and flats. I like my baseline style to be business casual so when I finally throw some sweats on after a long day, it’s even more of a luxury.

One item from your closet you can’t live without?

My favorite item actually isn’t from my closet, but my jewelry box—no outfit is finished until my watch is on

What would you never be caught wearing?

Hmm. I’m not about flesh-colored latex bra and panty sets and foam fingers… Just not my style.

Favorite places to shop?

I love Zara, it is my all-time favorite shop, and after coming back from my study abroad in Spain, I’m all about Top Shop! But of course, Forever 21 has a special place in my heart (and wallet).

Style advice?

Be comfortable in your skin, and confident in your choices. When I see a girl working a new trend I always make a point to compliment her.  Also, look presentable in class! You never know when a professor or potential employer will be watching, and looking the part of a student or intern puts you one step higher than the person next to you —go forth and conquer, ladies!
