Stevie Moses is a senior finance major here at UNH.  He is the alternate captain for the UNH Men’s Ice Hockey team.  We got a closer look into his hockey career and highlights of this season.

Can you give us a little background about your hockey career? When did you start playing?
I have been playing hockey all of my life. I started skating when I was 5 and have been in love with the sport ever since. By the time I was nine or ten hockey was the most significant part of my life. Every weekend was spent at rinks all over North America playing as much hockey I as I possibly could.

What’s it like to score four goals in a game (twice!):
I love to score goals- so scoring 4 in one game was really cool. To be able to do it twice was even more special. But hockey is a team game and all the credit goes to my linemates and teammates they work very hard to set me and and I am lucky to play with such a great group of guys.

Did you ever think you would score four goals twice?! That’s pretty impressive:
My whole life I drempt to play hockey at a place like UNH. Never did I think I would be able to score 4 goals in a game, but like I said before….my teammates put me a position to be successful.

How is the season going for you so far?
We have had a few tough stretches where wins have been hard to come by. But, I have never played with a group of guys that care about each other more and I know we are going to be in a great position to win a championship at the end of the season.

Any plans post graduation?
I have always dreamed to play hockey in the NHL. After graduation I plan to continue my career as a hockey player and work towards my dream of one day playing in the NHL

Advice for aspiring UNH wildcats?
Enjoy every minute of UNH life. There is no time better than college. I talk regularly with guys who play in the NHL and make a ton of money, they all agree that nothing is better than playing with your great friends and in front of an academic community that supports and rallys behind you. College is one of the most fun times of your life so live it up!
