The Rules of Fall Fashion at UNH

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Fall is the best time of year! We love the cider, pumpkin spiced lattes and an excuse to cuddle with a cutie in the cool weather of autumn. This refreshing time of year calls for a refreshed wardrobe, yet another great perk of fall!

Layers Layers Layers

The ever changing New England whether has never failed to frustrate us but it is a perfect excuse to buy new clothes for the trendy layer look! Throw on a light blouse with a collar and put on a heavier, solid print knit sweater over it. The pop of color from the blouse collar creates a girly look, especially with the colors of the season: plum, gold, burnt orange and dark green. If the morning air seems really chilly as you rush to your class, long pea coats are in style this year with a length anywhere in between your bottom and lower thigh. A matching scarf is a great accessory to tie the look together.
So, after running to class and you feel warm, take the coat off and you’ll still have an effortless, cute look. When it gets to be about noon and the temperature is at its highest, taking off the sweater will be okay too because you have the blouse which is also great for a dinner date!
(FYI holding all these extra clothes is a good excuse to buy a new oversize purse!)

Love Your Legs

Leggings are always a must for comfort and style, but for fall this year, prints are in. Don’t be too worried to get a crazy pattern, be a trend setter and stand out! Some leggings have designs along with embellishments like studs.
Last but not least, SHOES!
Whether you’re going out to a Halloween party or walking to class, you can’t go wrong with booties! These shoes are a huge trend and are a little more original than the fad of riding boots. Booties can be simple, or you can buy them with cute accessories like studs chains or buckles. Remember, you can’t go wrong with comfort by slipping on a pair of mocs or flats, as long as the colors compliment your outfit!

Keep up with UNH Fashion!

We are all talented at “scrubbin’ it” but let’s make sure we do it best for UNH.
Going to a football or hockey game? Wear your UNH sports sweatshirt with a matching blue or white scarf, wildcat sweatpants or plain jeggings, pieces that are comfy for the bleachers or fan seats. Finally, don’t forget a cute matching headband for a hippie girlish look.
