As if announcing the dates for their 2015 stadium tour On the Road Again wasn’t enough, One Direction released their fourth album, Four, Monday, November 17th.
The album contains sixteen songs that’ll have you so hooked you’ll be listening to them until the Night Changes into day (see what I did there?). The sound of the newest album is a far cry from their What Makes You Beautiful days with titles like Stockholm Syndrome and lyrics like “Come get back in bed, we still got time left.” Moment to freak out about that please.
To promote Four’s release, they performed at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. The concert was broadcasted on the Today Show. However, only four of the five band members were present.
Zayn Malik’s absence did not go unnoticed by reporter Matt Lauer, who asked if their band mate’s illness could be linked to substance abuse. Seems to be a valid question as a video earlier in the year of Malik and bandmate Louis Tomlinson smoking pot surfaced. But the question did not go over well and Lauer received a lot of backlash from fans.
But the band defended him, saying that it was just a stomach bug, and Zayn was reunited with the band for their performance the following night.
But that’s not the end for One Direction. They also released teasers for their music video for Night Changes, in the week leading up to it’s debut, Friday, Nov. 21st.
