As a history major, I am assigned a decent workload for each class, whether it be essays, readings, or preparing for upcoming exams. Over the past month, I have developed a study routine that ensures that all of my work is completed in a timely manner.

Firstly, I focus on picking a quiet place to study. I rotate between my two favorite study spots in one night. These two are Union Court and the 4th floor of the library. I often start in the library with my homework that is of less weight or has a farther out due date and start chipping away at it. This is usually readings for a few of my classes or it is studying for a Latin vocab quiz by handwriting out the list of words and their definitions that I am expected to memorize.

Then, when in one of those two places, my routine continues with making a priorities list. Usually at the top of this list I write the big-ticket items which are usually upcoming papers, exams, or a list of questions I am preparing ahead of a meeting that is coming up. After that, I color code each class using highlighters so I can visually see what I have left to complete.

After annotating my readings, I usually work through assembling research for possible upcoming essays, set up an outline with the information I have obtained, or create flashcards for an upcoming Latin quiz or exam. This is typically when I move to Union Court around 8-10pm, when it is mostly empty.

I usually end my night by reviewing everything I have completed in relation to my priorities list and note what percentage has been completed. Then, I create a new list for what needs to be completed in the morning and what needs to be completed the next night.
