This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Today I’m sharing my favorite meditation, I first experienced this meditation with UNH Health and Wellness. After doing the meditation on my own, I encountered so many benefits. I have written the meditation below, enjoy!

Get into a comfortable position.

Notice all your surroundings.

Close your eyes.

Begin taking deep breaths in… and out…

In and out.

Now think about a person in your life that you have a good relationship with, someone you appreciate or look up to. Now picture they’re sitting right in front of you.

Picture yourself saying this to that person *say this aloud*: may you be filled with love and kindness, may you be peaceful, may you be happy, may you be loved.

Again: may you be filled with love and kindness, may you be peaceful, may you be happy, may you be loved.

Now think about a person in your life who you’re having a tough time with, someone you may be frustrated with or no longer close with.

Picture yourself saying this to that person *say this aloud*: may you be filled with love and kindness, may you be peaceful, may you be happy, may you be loved.

Again: may you be filled with love and kindness, may you be peaceful, may you be happy, may you be loved.

Now think about yourself, anything you may be struggling with lately or worrying about.

*Say this aloud*: may I be filled with love and kindness, may I be peaceful, may I be happy, may I be loved.

Again: may you be filled with love and kindness, may you be peaceful, may you be happy, may you be loved.

Now come back to your breath, in and out.

In and out.

Open your eyes when you’re ready.
